VA HouseDesigner's graphic and user friendly interface is easy to use, which means you don’t need any special CAD knowledge when using it. You will find useful information on how to use the program in the manual. To avoid unnecessary searching in the printed reference part, HouseDesigner offers additional online help. The context related information for each specific question appears immediately on the screen with a mouse click. The planning and the construction of your project will be easier and the results will appear faster.

True to scale input of any complex floor plans are possible, supported by raster, support lines and ruler.

Plan and Design
It is possible to plan and design endless floors including basement and attic floors. Floors can be shown or hidden in VA HouseDesigner . Walls will be generated and blended as 3D models. Windows and doors can be selected from given pallets or they can be designed by intelligent assistants. Necessary wall openings will be automatically generated when placing. Ceilings will be added automatically.

Beam cross-section
It is possible to define all wood cross-sections for roof construction with dialogues. An information box shows all the relevant data about the roof (roof area, Ifdm cullies, gable boards, etc.).

Consideration of the sun and moon positions
With the help of a dialogue box you can determine longitude and latitude (the input can also be done by country and city).The daytime determines the exact position of the sun or moon, which can be shown in the background as desired by the user. In reference to the time of the year and day a determination of the daylight colour will be shown. A north arrow can be positioned within the construction plan. This north arrow determines the direction of the sun and moon.

Building/Object shadow
The user has the possibility to determine if the house has a shadow or not (such as a building shadow for outside videos with patio shadows). For objects, these functions can be chosen as well, i.e. whether or not they will have a shadow. This is important at times when generating pictures to use shadows. This function is an addition to the already existing function “lamp generates shadow”.
