In construction mode, you always work in a floorplan or layout view which shows the design from a perpendicular view from the top. In the design mode, in contrast, you can use different views: a view which is similar to the construction mode as well as a colorful view from the top and a perspective view, from which you can examine the position of the plans in all three room directions which can be freely defined. A special mode within the construction mode is the room design mode. In this mode, you don't work with several walls, rather with the entire room which you can create and merge staggering and complex floorplans.
